The one piece that they don't surface (that they should) is MP3 search. It never really struck me that they don't surface media files in their results, but it's obvious that they could easily do so if they wanted to. It comes with whatever bitrate MP3 (or other codec) I want to rip it in, and already has all of the "extra" like album art and liner notes. Eventually, the belief is that there will be a "good enough" digital copy from someone in the audience that the labels will able use for their archive without having to incur the cost of doing it themselves. To determine my favorites, I looked at a number of sources first I created a smartlist in iTunes that just included music that was released in 2008 (and then another for 2007 to see what was "new to me" in '08 even if it was technically… The new piece of the puzzle is that if they don't have it, they will present you a list of free-range MP3 search results. Most of my music (about 10K unprotected MP3s with a ton of other DRM'd stuff that won't be included) is on the latter.
